Up to £16 million has been awarded to the following projects, following the review of the results from the discovery phase. This second stage of the programme, funds the development and testing of their solutions on the market.

Pilot phase projects




The Electric Roof Project.
Sunsave Group Ltd will pilot a residential solar subscription product, with AES, a leading national installation and smart metering company. This pilot will wrap novel financing structures, improved install verification and the right hardware and technology into an innovative solar subscription solution.
Buy to Let Decarbonisation System
City Science will pilot a system for buy-to-let landlords, providing a single point of contact to fulfil their retrofit needs. They will lead on the integration of the retrofit supply chain and Property Master will develop and maintain the user interface and embed the financial product offering into the solution.

Green Line of Credit Embedded in Retrofit Services (GLOCERS Project)
Scroll Finance Ltd will pilot an affordable and flexible finance product - green home equity line of credit to help homeowners fund the upfront cost of retrofit measures. It will be delivered through retrofit partners SuSy, Furbnow, and Cosy Homes Oxfordshire with three pilot locations: Bristol, Oxfordshire and the West Midlands.

E.ON's optimised Heat as a Service / Energy as a Service Project
E.ON Energy Solutions Ltd’ pilot project will bring to market Energy as a Service (EaaS) for 350 households - a one stop shop solution making low carbon energy savings easy and affordable. This will be delivered with Heatio Financial Services Ltd, Heatio Ltd and Energy Systems Catapult Ltd.

Snugg Green Home Hub
Snugg will pilot the Green Home Hub (GHH), a digital consumer platform that guides homeowners to improve the energy efficiency of their home. This will be delivered by Perenna Bank, who will integrate their long-term fixed rate mortgage products into the GHH. Scroll Finance will be developing and integrating their Green Shared Equity Mortgage into the GHH.

Credit Union finance a place based one stop shop for retrofit
People Powered Retrofit Limited will pilot two Credit Union financial products to meet the demand for retrofit measures from households in two demographically and geographically distinct pilot markets. This will be delivered with Carbon Co-op, Metro Moneywise, Association of British Credit Unions Limited, Manchester Care and Repair, Loco Homes and Julie Godefroy.

Point of Sale Technology for Financing Retrofits and Energy Efficiency (POST FREE)
Scroll Finance Limited will pilot a purpose-built, point-of-sale finance platform ‘Green Finance Hub’ to be deployed for consumer retrofit energy efficiency and decarbonisation improvements. POST-FREE is a partnership between fintech Scroll Finance Ltd, Sustainable Building Services (UK) Limited and Sustainable Energy Services (UK) Ltd.

Retrofit ROI Heatmap Blending Retail and Institutional Finance
Energy Saving Trust Enterprises Limited will pilot the Retrofit Proposition Toolkit (RPT). This will enable financial service companies to create an end-to-end retrofit proposition targeted at owner-occupiers and private rented sector (PRS) landlords, looking to improve their homes to EPC band C. This will be delivered with TrustMark and the Residential Logbook Association.

Perenna Retrofit Mortgage & HEMS
Perenna Bank PLC will pilot a long-term fixed rate mortgage product which offers homeowners a reduced interest rate if they make their home more energy efficient. Customers are also provided with a free home energy management system (HEMS). This will be delivered with Heatio Ltd and Energy Systems Catapult.

Built Environment Investment Analysis Service
Living Places Earth Ltd will pilot two new services to address critical information gaps, one for mortgage providers and one for local authorities. It will be delivered with SkenarioLabs, Eunomia and Living Places with support from Bristol City Council, London Borough of Hounslow, West Brom Building Society and ESRI.
